Troll

After having dealt with the half-elf alchemist, Calvin, an elf, comes back to his apartment, only to find a debris filled living room. As he passes the pile of rubble, he sees that there is a note on the kitchen table, which surprisingly wasn’t destroyed. Calvin walks up to the table and reads the note.

If you value your life as it is, leave the city and never come back.

Calvin is baffled at who would have wanted to make him leave the city, but he remembers that about 4 years ago, a group of trolls told him to scram or die. Calvin killed one of them in self-defence, but trolls are known to hold grudges. When Calvin rushes into his car, he sees a hobo with a bindle eyeing him curiously.

“I’ll check with him later to see if he has info,” Calvin morosely mumbles. Even though he is gonna check, Calvin knows that only people with magical blood can see others who are magical, or else they only see air. When he arrives at the pub where he fought the trolls, Calvin sees that it is a run-down building. He starts chanting in Elvish a de-camouflage spell, and sends out purple tendrils to unwrap the camouflage. Once he does it, he walks into the pub asking for information.

“Have you seen a group of trolls ‘ round here lately?” Calvin asks.

“Dun’t know who yur talkin’ ‘bout fella, we only sell drinks and food here.” The bartender replies

“What if I make it 100 bucks, are you gonna give me my info or do you want to be recumbent after I beat the snot out of you?” Calvin answers sternly.

“Make it 120 and you got a deal.” The bartender answers.

“Deal. So, my info?” Calvin replies.

“The group yur looking for hasn’t come ‘round these here parts for ‘bout a year, but for 20 more, I’ll tell ya where they went.” The bartender replies confidently.

“15, or I go find them myself without yur help.” Calvin says calmly.

“Fine they Moved from ‘round here to up north, now hand me the cash,” the bartender replies aggressively.

Calvin gives him the cash and walks back to his car, only to find it broken down. Calvin thinks “Oh well, I’m gonna have to teleport.” The bartender was more specific about which street they trolls lived on, so he chants the spell, and disappears, reappearing in front of a huge house with music blasting through the house.

“Well, looks like I got lucky for once.” As he walks in, a drunk couple walks out, crumbling under each other’s weight. Calvin, with his enhanced eyesight, easily spots the trolls, and casually walks over there. As he reaches them, they start growling very loudly, so that everyone can hear them. As he sits next to them, Calvin starts saying ”Don’t ever try to break my house again and leave death notes behind, or you are dead.” The trolls start laughing and saying that they did not do it, but deep down, through their eyes, Calvin sees a hint of worry. That’s all he needs as a provocation. As he yanks out his sword, the trolls are too slow and two heads come clean off, while the rest lumbered away. Calvin raises his voice “If any of you ever try to harm me in any way, I will come after you and do the same thing to you as I did to them,” he points the sword to the heads.

As he walks out, he hears people whispering about him, but he doesn’t care. Calvin teleports to his apartment and crashes on the magically cleared bed and blacks out the moment he lands.

The End
